A Growing Habitat Crisis.

For species protection there is an urgent need to provide hollows to ensure the decline of our native animals is halted.

Over 300 of Australia’s native animals depend on tree hollows for shelter, breeding, and protection. However, natural hollows take over a century to form, and they are currently disappearing from many landscapes faster than they can be replaced due to:

Tree hollows are among the most valuable habitat features found in Australian landscapes.

Due to the time it takes for nature to produce hollows, decline in species is inevitable, and therefore the need for hollows is critical. NativeHabitat.Co creates authentic, species-specific tree hollows that restore these valuable habitat resources.

As natural hollows continue to disappear, we replace what has been lost by creating immediate homes for native wildlife. In doing so, we support biodiversity, strengthen healthy wildlife populations, and contribute to resilient ecosystems that benefit the entire landscape.

Healthy habitats create healthy ecosystems, and healthy ecosystems sustain life.

Habitat Where it’s Needed.

Every landscape is unique, NativeHabitat.Co actively works on site to assess and establish the quality of the tree ecosystems to determine best hollow locations suitable for target species.

We utilise modern technology to monitor and record the adoption of these new homes. This considered approach allows us to project the reestablishment of biodiversity and essential habitat in the local environment, contributing to a healthier, more resilient ecosystem for generations to come.

As the number of constructed hollows grow, GPS recording and data base mapping will provide a comprehensive and valuable record of habitat locations. Ongoing monitoring will be available through strategically positioned wild life cameras and regular observations of selected hollows, providing valuable insights into habitat use and the long term success of each installation.
